That's me with Tracy Willard Matthews, the Chief Visionary Officer of Flourish & Thrive Academy, at the Ethical Gem Faire Sonoran Happy Hour in Tucson last year. It was just a few weeks after I graduated from Laying the Foundation, FTA's flagship program. The program was tough--teaching everything a jewelry designer would need to know to run a profitable business in 12 weeks. What a thrill to finish the course and meet the director in the same month! *Also my cute lil fangirl face looking off the wrong direction*

I fell in love with wild footwear at an early age. Second grade: uniforms, but no rules on shoes as long as they tied. So I picked the loudest pair of blue and gold color-blocked oxfords and walked around on cloud nine that year. Was I bullied? Yes. Did I still love them? Yes. Today my footwear choices often start conversations or make people smile. They sure make me smile.
